Quark Troubles?

If you have trouble with a Quark 3.3 file, try opening it with the Command key pressed. This forces Quark to re-import all photos. And, alas, Norton’s Directory Assistance II is still incompatible with Quark. (The Eficolor XTension is the culprit.)
