Browsing Photos in a Folder

Jul 3, 2009

OS X

In Mac OSX “Tiger,” you can view a folder of photos or pictures as a slideshow by selecting all the files then clicking on the little “gear” icon to get a drop down menu where you could choose “slideshow.”

In “Leopard” (the latest Mac OSX) you can open a folder of images and use “Quicklook” to view the images. Selecting the first image and hitting the Space bar brings up an image that you can resize. Clicking on the arrow keys lets you continue viewing the other images in the folder. What I sometimes prefer to do is to view the folder contents by icon. Then under the View menu, choose “Show view options” and make the icons as big as possible. I usually add a color background too. Then I can see thumbnails of each picture by scrolling through the folder.
